A true family BUSINESS…
Vicki & David FuTong opened the Grouse & Claret Restaurant in 1992, fresh from working in some of London’s top restaurants and ready to start their own venture with their young family.
The Grouse & Claret soon became renowned in the local town for its warm hospitality and excellent food. Vicki has a larger than life personality, an incredible eye for detail and ensures she speaks to every guest that comes through the doors.
David retired from the kitchen in 2019 however, having grown up in a hospitality environment, it was no surprise that Vicki & David’s son Daniel stepped in. After graduating with a degree in event management, Daniel worked for several years in London bars & restaurants before coming home to join the family business.
Daniel continues to create fresh, seasonal menus using local produce with an occasional Asian twist, just like his father, but he will not dare take our famous cheese soufflé off the menu for fear of upsetting our regulars!
We continue to welcome our patrons to the restaurant for lunch and dinners and also offer a private dining experience in our Gallery for special occasions, events and weddings.
